We are here!

Friday 4th June – D(eparture) Day
We spent our final night at Gerry and Maria’s house.  Fergal popped over for a glass of wine and it was a nice quite evening and a relatively early night for me (not for Gwen or Maria!).  Last minute packing this morning said our goodbyes (again).  Brenda stopped by with Shay and Iona for another goodbye and then we headed to the airport with three very large suite cases, a stroller, three car seats and two back packs.  We were overweight with everything but managed to reduce the $450 excess to $150 with some creative repacking at the check-in counter.   Flight was Delta from DFW to Atlanta and then on to Dublin.   Girls again were great on the plane and even Jessica while very confused by the whole process did quite well.
I have to say that so far the migration has still not hit me as my head is fixed on next steps one we land.  Remember we still have not home, transport or jobs, the only think so far that we know is what school the girls are going to in September  and I have a sailing trip with all my old college buddies in mid August.  Other than that it is all TBD!
Saturday 5th June – Arrival Day
We arrived at Dublin airport early on the Saturday 5th June.  Gwen kissed the runway just like the Pope did back in 1977 (or was it 79?).  Picked up a nice French car at airport (Peugeot 4007) and hit the road to Kinsale stopping twice for lunch and a bathroom break next to the Rock of Cachel.  Our first temporary house is in Garrettstown and just about 100meters from the beach.   All of us however were completely knackered and jetlagged to really enjoy of take in what was around us.  Jetlagged kids and especially jetlagged babies is just not much fun.
