Setting free a crab!

Today we drove into the city for a couple of hours so that Gwen could get her hair done (she looks great!) while Jessica and I loaded up on very tasty provisions at Cork's most excellent "English" Market. Got the usual cheeses, Durras and Gabriel as well as a good blue, a nicely aged Spanish Monchego and some superb spicy chorizo. Got to taste all of them and many more while wandering around. Also picked up a kilo of baby clams for dinner this evening which is where a tiny crab was holding out.

Gwen used the clams to cook "Spaghetti alle vongole", made using garlic, shallots, olive oil, flat leaf parsley, white wine. Delicous! After which I drove down to the town with the girls so that we could ceremoniously release the little stowaway back into the sea. We used to do the same thing in Dallas except instead of crabs we used to release squirrels captured in our attic.

In other news Anna is now doing two violin classes a week and her teacher is saying that she is a natural.  She seems to enjoy playing it too.  Yesterday at class her teacher told her to keep the violin in the case and to go play a harp she had setup.  Anna who had never seen or played one before walked over to it and played a few tunes with no instructions!  Very proud moment for Gwen and me!

After school today I met with the principal as she wants me to work on the school website.   They have been talking about it for four years and have never managed to get one running so lets see how I do.  I will post a link to it when it goes live (hopefully next week if I get some free time to work on it.)   It will be a bilingual site in Irish and English so that'll be fun!

That's all for the moment.
