Thursday 16th September 2010

All is still well here in Kinsale.  Weather has been kind to us and still quite warm.  We see the and hear the weather forecast talking about it being rainy and cold in other parts of the country but apparently West Cork has its own climate that we are enjoying quite a lot.

Girls are settling well into their new school.  They are not so keen on the Irish being spoken all the time and Sarah gets particularly mad when the boys and girls continue speaking "as gaeilge" in the playground.  We are however definitely into a normal routine every day getting up early, making breakfast and packed lunches, getting them dressed in their uniforms and then a quick walk up the hill to the school after which I make my long commute up the stairs and start working.  Girls get home in the afternoon, do their homework (obair bhaile), eat dinner, play, watch TV and go to bed!   We also have them in some after school activities.  We picked up a new violin for Anna so she is back doing lessons with a local music teacher in the town.  They also swim once a week at the pool in Acton's hotel,  will be starting weekly science camp tomorrow, tennis lessons in a bit and they had their first Irish dancing lessons on Wednesday.

Gwen's mother and sister took the train down to see us last Friday (well they really came down to see the birthday girl!).  Gwen and I got to sneak out for a few hours on Saturday night which was nice (Greyhound of course!) and Gwen's mum took us all out for dinner on Sunday night to the Blue Haven.
