Happy Mother's day and a visit to an ancient megalithic site.

Sunday was Mother's day in Ireland and my cool wife preferred a schlep to the ancient megalithic site near Rosscarbery rather than a fancy Sunday brunch like most mothers!   We visited the Drombeg Stone Circle which consists of 17 large stones in a circle that will align perfectly with the sun at winter solstice.  I assume these things were used an ancient calendars and this one they think was erected around 150BC.

Very impressive and another West Cork attraction box ticked for us!

Happy mother's day babe!

The sun sets over this alter stone and shines on the one opposite on Winter Solstice.

The girls were convinced they would find fairies here.

99 on the way home.  Glorious day.
