Hello everyone. We have been really bad at updating the blog this year which I have no excuses other than laziness. We are all staying quite busy living life and doing lots of kids activities, cooking some great dinners and still entertaining the occasional guests. Last week my good old college friend Mark visit us while on business in Cork (great to see you Mark). He stayed for dinner and our three girls all took a serious shine to him and drove him nuts before the two of us walked into the town for a few pints at the Spaniard and Grey Hound.
Gwen did a trip to Dublin last weekend for a impromptu school reunion so I had the girls for myself and spoiled them accordingly. Actually the spoiling was bribery to get exclusive access to the television so that I could watch the Rugby. The Six Nations started on Friday with Ireland playing Italy on Saturday and was the first time in about 15 years that I got to watch these games live in Ireland in my sitting room.
Cooking wise we are still doing all sorts of tasty dishes. I did my first ever beef bourguignon last week which was epic! We also did an amazing Paella using all sorts of shell fish that we picked up at the English Market, again superb and our first ever stuffed pork belly which was also quite nice.
News in Ireland is dominated with the election which will be held on 25th Feb so big changes in the works here. Gwen and I are both registered to vote and are enjoying talking to the canvassers that have been knocking at the door.
That's about all for the moment.
